‘Celebrating the Turf’ takes place from 18th June to 7th July 2018 at the Osborne Studio Gallery. This exhibition of some of the finest contemporary equestrian art has been organised to coincide with Royal Ascot.
Geoffrey Hughes, Director of Osborne Studio Gallery, is a lover of horse racing and the racing world. For at least twenty five years he has held an annual show of the best contemporary equestrian art during Ascot Week. Read more
Entries are now open for the SEIB Insurance Brokers (SEIB) Burghley Sponsored Ride which will take place at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials on Sunday 2nd September 2018. This will be the 17th time the ride has been held on the final day of the world-famous horse trials in Burghley Park. Read more
Alex Monro, director of Mole Energy Switching (www.moleenergy.com), has picked up the gauntlet by volunteering to ride in a very special horse race, the Pertemps Champions Willberry Charity Derby, being held at Epsom Racecourse, home of the Derby, on Monday 27th August 2018, to raise money for the Willberry the Wonder Pony Charity and The Bob Champion Cancer Trust. Young Hannah Francis founded the Willberry charity once she herself was diagnosed with cancer. Tragically Hannah died in 2016, but her charity continues to inspire people and raise money to support vital research and grant equine related wishes to seriously ill people. Bob Champion was himself both a very successful jockey and a cancer sufferer. Read more

Last year the foal, Tinka’s Star, by Nick Skelton’s Rio individual Gold medal winning ride Big Star, out of multiple Grand Prix winner Tinka’s Serenade fetched a massive £92,000 under the hammer. Read more
April’s NAF Shining Star has been awarded to 14-year old Saskia Mohan from Kirtlington, Oxfordshire. Saskia has combined her drive for progression and her positive attitude to become an integral member of the Central Junior Academy and this has led to her successful nomination for the NAF Shining Star Award. British Showjumping’s Spring Championships took place at Addington Manor from 22nd to 25th March, giving members four days of jumping and eight championship titles to aim for.
The courses, which were designed by London 2012 course designer Bob Ellis and Nigel Jess, gave some great competition across the shows entirety with members also thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to jump some of the former Olympic Games fences.
Jade Meekings from Felsted in Essex took the Silver League Championship on board her own palomino mare, Pauls Lass. The Irish-bred 12-year-old ‘Gracie’ joined Jade five years ago as her first horse. Read more
