HRH Princess Anne Launches 50th Anniversary Tartan for Riding for RDA

A new tartan has been produced by Lachcarron of Scotland in celebration of 50 years of Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) providing therapy through horses.

The tartan was launched at an anniversary event in Edinburgh by RDA President, Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal. The Princess met with volunteers and participants from around the country and was presented with her very own RDA tartan scarf by brothers Andrew and William McLeod. Read more

Adventurer and animal whisperer Emma Massingale, from Holsworthy in Devon is once again embarking on a ground-breaking trip that no-one has ever attempted before. This time she is planning a 1000 mile cycle across Europe. “Interesting”, you might say, “Yet surely not unique?”. But Emma, in her inimitable style, has given the challenge her own, particular twist, by commissioning a custom made tricycle, in which she will carry two new equine friends and her dog Inca, as she pedals from Switzerland back to the UK, following the River Rhine. SEIB clients vote World Horse Welfare to receive £50K Charity Award

SEIB Insurance Brokers granted a total of £100,000 to charity at their Charity Awards luncheon at the Grange City Hotel, London on the 22nd March. SEIB’s Chief Executive Officer, Barry Fehler presented a cheque for £50,000 and a commemorative plaque to Roly Owers of the winning charity, World Horse Welfare. Nine other charities reached the final voting stage of the SEIB Charity Awards and received a further £50,000 from SEIB between them. Read more

SEIB’s Chief Executive Officer, Barry Fehler presented a cheque for £50,000 and a commemorative plaque to Emma Day and Gemma Stanford of the British Horse Society (BHS). SEIB customers voted for the Healthcare on Tour project from the winning charity, the BHS, to be the recipient of this generous grant. Read more

Alex Monro to Ride in Charity Race at Epsom

Alex Monro, director of Mole Energy Switching (www.moleenergy.com), has picked up the gauntlet by volunteering to ride in a very special horse race, the Pertemps Champions Willberry Charity Derby, being held at Epsom Racecourse, home of the Derby, on Monday 27th August 2018, to raise money for the Willberry the Wonder Pony Charity and The Bob Champion Cancer Trust. Young Hannah Francis founded the Willberry charity once she herself was diagnosed with cancer. Tragically Hannah died in 2016, but her charity continues to inspire people and raise money to support vital research and grant equine related wishes to seriously ill people. Bob Champion was himself both a very successful jockey and a cancer sufferer. Read more
