Deadline for nominations for the Petplan and ADCH Charity Awards is 13th February 2015
There is less than a week to go before nominations close for the Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards. With animal welfare at its heart UK’s leading specialist insurer Petplan works with over 1,000 animal charities throughout the UK and its equine specialist sister brand, Petplan Equine is putting out a final call to the equine community to nominate their favourite charity for the 2015 Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards.

General Sir Mike Jackson declares new Marlborough Downs horse-drawn driving route open.
Former Chief of the General Staff, the professional head of the British Army, General Sir Mike Jackson declared open a new horse-drawn driving route across the Marlborough Downs on behalf of the Kennet Valley Carriage Driving Group (KVCDG) Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) on 2nd September 2014.
3,000 Horse & Pony Owners Needed To Participate In Fight against Laminitis
More than 3,000 horse and pony owners are needed to collaborate on a new web-based research project, named ‘CARE (Creating Awareness and Reporting Evidence) about laminitis’, that aims to help all horse and pony owners reduce the threat posed by equine laminitis.
The four-year study, being undertaken by the Animal Health Trust (AHT), in partnership with the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), and generously funded by World Horse Welfare, is being conducted by PhD student, Danica (Dee) Pollard, based at the AHT. It will take a closer look at management factors which may contribute to the development or recurrence of laminitis within the British horse and pony population.
