Reigning Champion Jockey for 20 years, AP has now retired after an illustrious career in racing and recently visited his Champion Hurdle winning partner ‘Make a Stand’ at Henrietta Knight’s yard. Make a Stand produced one of AP’s most memorable wins in the 1997 Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham where he led all the way, now 25 years old the chestnut gelding lives at Henrietta’s Oxfordshire yard with Edredon Bleu (whom AP won the Queen Mother Champion Chase in 2000).

Star Shines Bright on TopSpec Stud Balancer
Stud owners, John Ford and Alan Lyons were celebrating recently when their stallion, Wessex Starring Role achieved ‘Life Graded’ status at the Sports Horse Breeding of Great Britain Stallion Grading.
One of only four stallions that made the grade, the West Country stallion is known as ‘Star’ and was highly admired at the grading with his superb condition .
