Nominations Open for the Prestigious SEIB Meritoire Award
The annual SEIB Meritoire award is presented to the person who, in the opinion of the Awards Committee has made an outstanding lifetime contribution to the performance sport horse and pony breeding industry.
Previous winners have been the Louella Stud for their contribution to sport horse breeding; Johanna Vardon, founder of the National Foaling Bank, for her contribution to the health and wellbeing of orphaned foals; Archie Smith Maxwell, breeder of Jumbo, one of the highest ranking event sires of all time; Professor Graham Suggett in recognition for a lifetime’s contribution to breeding through encouraging British studbooks to work together and his Chairmanship of the former National Equine Database. In 2015 the Award was made posthumously to Richard Meade OBE, for his considerable competition success, his chairmanship of the British Horse Foundation for over 20 years and his unflinching support of British breeding. 10 years of Toggi Team GBR red, white and blue…and counting!
2015 sees the 10 year anniversary of Toggi’s association with the British Equestrian Federation and of the brand’s support of Equestrian Team GBR. In the 10 year partnership, Equestrian Team GBR has won 162 medals at senior level, with countless more at youth level and we are all hoping that 2015 will see that number rise!
British Equestrian Federation Announces Di Lampard as new Performance Manager for Jumping
The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) has (5 February 2015), named Di Lampard as the new Performance Manager for Jumping. Di will step up from her current role as Team GBR Co-Selector and deputy Chef d’Equipe for Nations Cup jumping teams (a position she has held since 2010) to lead, develop and manage the Jumping Programmes within the UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Programme.
The British Horse Society and the British Equestrian Federation have honoured the local charity – The Horse Rangers Association – with their Clubmark accreditation. It’s given to youth organisations offering high quality duty of care and child protection; sports equity and ethics and club management.
Over 350 Horse Rangers attend sessions at the Hampton Court stables each week and all the activities rely on a team of over 200 dedicated volunteers.
