HRH Princess Anne visits Pony Club Centre

A horse found abandoned in South London at just a few months old has made an amazing transformation and is enjoying a new lease of life as a companion for young racehorses with her Suffolk rehomers, the Southcott family.
When World Horse Welfare Field Officer Nick White first visited Polaris in January 2016, he found her in fly-grazing in a field on Purley Way in Croydon with one other young foal and a mare in poor condition.
Following British equestrian fashion brand Equetech’s successful nationwide campaign #equetechrealrider to find four real riders who embodied their diverse customer base and brand spirit, the company have finally revealed the winning entries in a stunning series of photographs to co-inside with their 25-year celebrations this year.
Rowena Day, 31 from West Sussex was their first winner pulled from a competition that ran in Horse & Rider Magazine. She said:
“I’m flabbergasted, things like this just don’t happen to me! This really gives me a boost in what recently has been a low point in my life. I’ve been a fan of both Equetech and Horse & Rider Magazine for a long time; I feel ecstatic to be given a chance to be part of the #equetechrealriderscampaign. Equetech has been a firm favourite of mine over the last thirteen years of horse ownership especially the active jodhpurs. I can’t wait to take part in the campaign and enjoy wearing the clothes I’ve won.”
This coming New Year’s Day, ditch the sofa surfing for a fun day out in the capital and grab your horsey fix with entertainment, costumes and colour inspired by the circus world as ‘All The Queen’s Horses’ take to London’s streets in The London New Year’s Day Parade 2018.
Amongst the jugglers, cheerleaders, acrobats, and marching bands participating in this annual parade on 1st January 2018, a team of 60 horses will be taking to the streets of London dressed to thrill under this show’s theme heading ‘Circus & The Showman’.
