Phoebe Jefferies wins the Second Round at Barleylands Equestrian Centre

Phoebe Jefferies and Billy Savoy

Essex’s Phoebe Jefferies riding Karen Jefferies’s Billy Savoy won the Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Rounds at Barleylands Equestrian Centre in Basildon Essex on Sunday 9th September.

Phoebe has qualified for the hugely popular Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which will take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool from 13th to 18th 18 November 2018.

Eight posted first round clears over course-designer Ian Lewington’s 10-fence track to go forward to the jump-off and chase after the top spot. Nonetheless, Phoebe had all the tight turns sewn up to win on Billy Savoy, a Billy Mexico x Animo nine-year-old that she has competed for the past two years, by an impressive 5.13 seconds.
