Horse Community uniting to fight Infectious Disease

The weekend of 22nd to 24th February saw the last show of the Winter Classic Series at South View Equestrian Centre in Cheshire. The event played host to a number of final qualifiers including The Champagne Cave Winter Grades B&C Championship Qualifier.
Competing under the sponsor banner of Team NAF, the four-strong squad were robust from the start with two of the four jumping clear in the first round and the team having to carry just 4 penalties through. This saw them sit in joint 2nd place, after all eleven nations had jumped in the first round, alongside Belgium and Ireland whilst Germany held the lead on a zero-penalty score.
Eight teams came forward to contest the twelve obstacles of the Nations Cup course. The open water was testing for some, but not as much as the final straight which took in a treble followed by a related distance to the final fence, an oxer going away from home.
Primrose, a little cremello cob mare, was rescued and taken to the charity’s Glenda Spooner Farm in Somerset.
Southerly Roberts claimed the Winter Bronze League Championship for the second year running on the consistent Tinx. The pair held off 12 rivals with 2.43 seconds in hand.
