Gold medal winning British event rider Nicola Wilson has represented Great Britain at Olympic, European and World Championship level, including the 2017 European Eventing Championships, 2014 World Equestrian Championships and the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Following the theft of their van along with all of their trade stand stock en route to the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, equestrian Charity, the Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund were determined to carry on regardless.
Walton-on-Thames born and bred, Sam Hutton is one of Britain’s most successful young riders. He has been based in Belgium for the past few years and is currently with top Egyptian rider Abdel Said (AS Sport Horses). Harrison Chart riding Direct Cruising won the BE 100U18 at Eridge Park Horse Trials on Saturday 14th July. Cruise, owned by Sara Wick, has competed up to 2* and Harrison who has only been riding for three years expressed how grateful he was to be able to loan such a special horse from a supportive and involved owner. The British Showjumping National Championships 2018 got underway today, Tuesday 7th August, at NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire. Taking the first win of the Show in Championship Arena 1 was Honor Redhouse aboard her beautiful 11-year-old grey mare, Zara Queen of Hearts, who was crowned the 2018 Pony Restricted Rider 1.00m Champion. Suzanne Stratford’s family moved to Broadlands in Medstead, Hampshire in 1946. In 1955 they started giving riding lessons and the Broadlands RDA Group has grown ever since. ITN newsreader Alastair Stewart OBE is an enormous supporter of British equestrianism, a sport three of his four children actively enjoy and one in which he has a number of voluntary roles, including Ambassador for British Showjumping and Patron of the Brooke. On Sunday 8th July Alastair and his wife, Sally, visited Broadlands to celebrate the first phase in the centre’s refurbishment.
