The Equi-Fun Club ran another of their ever popular Matchy Matchy Dressage Show’s on July 1st at Plumpton College. The idea of the show is to allow competitors to wear their colourful Matchy Matchy sets in competition and to encourage the fun side of dressage. The classes start at Intro running through to elementary and are aimed at unaffiliated riders, especially those that are nervous or new to dressage.
Class one was the Intro class, which was kindly sponsored by Chills Equestrian and split into two sections, juniors and seniors. The junior section was won by one of the youngest club members, Chloe Mountford and her super Shetland, Teddy Bear. Ella Farnes took first place in the Senior section on her young cob, SD Pinky, with Eileen Cawte taking second place on her lovely mare, Diamond Faith. Ella Farnes also won the senior section of class two riding SD Red Rocky, which was sponsored by Mr MOT. The junior section was won by Jasmine Newman on Taliska.
Class three the Prelim was split into two sections, a restricted and open. Bodle Bro Ltd sponsored the restricted section which was won by Sarah Deacon on Oscar. The open section was sponsored by The Equine Warehouse and won by Tracy Collins on her son’s pony, Diamond Geezer. A Have A Go Novice class followed, which was specifically for riders looking to move up to Novice. This was sponsored by Inclusive Concepts, which Sarah Deacon and Oscar also won. The final class of the day was a Pick A Test Class sponsored by Hascombe Equestrian and won by Rebecca Wood on Brownbread Frodi Foxfire, who belongs to a club member and was making his debut at Novice level.

All in all, it was a great day, with some seriously fabulous tests ridden, brilliant judging and supportive competitors and spectators.
