One of the highlights of the year for Epsom Riding for the Disabled Association (Epsom RDA) took place on Sunday 17 November when riders from Group came together to celebrate their achievements in front of their families, friends and volunteers at their annual Prize Giving.
During the afternoon event held at the prestigious Duchess’s Stand at Epsom Racecourse riders were presented with 36 trophies and 19 endeavour certificates by the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell, Councillor John Beckett. The riders earnt their trophies and certificates by passing nationally recognised riding Proficiency Tests or by gaining an Endeavour Award for meeting a specific challenge set by their own Coach.
The Chair of Epsom RDA, Ray Lee, said: “This afternoon is an opportunity for the Epsom RDA family to come together to celebrate the successes of our riders. It is so important to the riders’ self-confidence and esteem to have their achievements recognised in this way in front of their families and peers. It was wonderful to see the smiles of joy all around the room.”
