Louise and the eight-year-old Quadrille, owned and bred by Her Majesty the Queen, recently won the Advanced Medium Music class at the Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) Dressage Final at Houghton Hall (Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September). Louise competed on three of her horses at the RoR Final including; Quadrille, Equine Science and Tinchy Rider.
Tinchy Rider, a four-year-old son of Dylan Thomas, was trained previously in Yorkshire by Group 1 winning trainer Bryan Smart before moving to Louise’s yard in March this year. The combination will now make the voyage to Kentucky in the United States for the Retired Racehorse Makeover Project on the 23rd to the 25th October 2015. Louise will be the first ever UK rider to take part in the competition and will compete against riders from 44 different states.
Louise Robson said, “I am delighted to be joining Amlin Plus and am very grateful for their support. I am the first ever UK rider to compete at the RRP Makeover Project. It is sure to be an incredible experience and I am very much looking forward to the competition.”
David Ashby, Managing Director of Amlin Plus added, “Amlin Plus are thrilled to be continuing our commitment to the re-training of former racehorses and adding Louise to our sponsorship portfolio. I personally have been involved in the re-training of a number of former racehorses into eventers so know first-hand the hard work involved.”
“It is a very exciting time for Louise as she prepares for America. She has already seen much success on former racehorses in the dressage ring here in the UK and Amlin Plus wish her the best of luck in Kentucky this October and for the coming year.”
