The Pony Club Seeks Out the Young Artistic Talent of Tomorrow.
Following a successful inaugural year in 2013, The Pony Club has once again teamed up in 2014 with the Society of Equestrian Artists (SEA) to run an Art Competition that uncovers young equestrian artistic talent.
The competition invites Pony Club Branch and Centre Members to produce a piece of equestrian artwork based around a specific theme which helps celebrate The Pony Club’s 85th Anniversary – “The Pony Club Then, Now, and in the Future”. Artists will need to depict either their favourite past Pony Club memory, their favourite current aspect of being a Pony Club Member or what they imagine The Pony Club will be like in future years!
Artwork will be judged in a two-stage process by representatives from both The Pony Club and the SEA, producing a selection of finalists across three age categories (11 & Under, 12 to 16 and 17 & Over). Finalists will be invited to display their work at The Pony Club Championships, held in August at Cholmondeley Castle, and the overall winner will have the unique opportunity to have their artwork displayed at the SEA exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London; and will also be presented with a perpetual trophy.
“We received over 200 entries in 2013, depicting a wide range of Pony Club memories from the Member’s first rally or competition to their favourite experience at Pony Club Camp, so we have adapted the 2014 theme to fit in with the 85th Anniversary and give a slightly different angle,” comments Marty Bibby, who administrates the competition for The Pony Club.“We hope the entries will reflect the rich and varied history of The Pony Club, the enjoyment Members experience currently, and we’re really quite excited to see how Members will perceive it in years to come!”
For ease and so the artwork can be enjoyed by as many as possible, entrants are invited to submit their artwork electronically via the online portal as below, where a full set of competition rules can also be viewed.
Entries to the competition close on June 15th 2014.
