Equestrian Art Show at Petworth
July and August sees three of the world’s most celebrated equestrian sporting events take place in West Sussex. The British Open Polo Championship for the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gold Cup, the Qatar Goodwood Festival (‘Glorious Goodwood’), and the Longines Royal International Horse Show is at Hickstead .
To celebrate this Kevis House Gallery in Petworth is holding an exhibition of contemporary equestrian art between 6th July and 28th August. The exhibition will feature a range of works by some of the leading artists in the field.
The pictures will depict a wide range of equestrian sports, capturing the speed of polo and horse racing, the elegance of dressage, and the spectacle of carriage driving. Among the action filled works are individual studies of horses, jockeys and polo players.

The artists include Alasdair Banks, who is best known for his bold expressionist style; Martin Williams, Cuneo Award Winner of the Society of Equestrian Arts of Great Britain; Vineta Sayer MA, who paints without recourse to photographic reference; Terence Gilbert SEA, who is one of the UK’s most celebrated portrait artists; Liz Armstrong MA, a master of pen and ink, and finally Sally Martin SEA, another Cuneo Award winner, and acknowledged as the best young dressage artist on the equestrian scene today.
