World-famous vocal artist Leona Lewis celebrated both her birthday and a new title on 3rd April 2014, as she has been confirmed as Horse of the Year Show’s (HOYS) Honorary President. A passionate animal lover and keen equestrian, Leona is eager to use the role to raise awareness of the work done by her own charity, Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, which is very close to her heart, when the “The World’s Most Famous Horse Show” returns to Birmingham’s NEC from 8th to 12th October 2014.

Battle in Bordeaux: FEI World Cup™ Vaulting and Driving Finals & Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping penultimate leg.
The renowned Jumping International de Bordeaux (FRA) will host the battle for medals at the FEI World Cup™ Vaulting and Driving Finals and penultimate leg of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping this weekend (8th to 9th February 2014).
The FEI World Pair Driving Championships at Topolcianky, Slovakia, which begins on 28th August and will end on Sunday 1st September, is set to break the participation record having attracted no less than 73 competitors from 23 nations. There will be 21 teams consisting of either two or three drivers each.

This year’s Royal County of Berkshire Show (21st – 22nd September) has some great equestrian action on the schedule!
From Heavy Horses through to Scurry Driving and Royal International Horse Show & Olympia qualifiers, the show also celebrates the diversity of the equine population with a range of showing classes from Shetlands and Highlands, Mountain & Moorlands through to Cleveland Bays and Friesians. As well as Cobs, Working Hunters and Riding Horse classes, the ‘Retrained Racehorses’ classes always draw lots of competitors and a big crowd and with the showground’s close proximity to Lambourn – a village famous for its association with the training of the world’s finest racehorses, you are always guaranteed to spot some familiar & successful bloodlines!
