The Team

Meet some of the team at Localrider Magazine.

Fiona
Editor
Fiona is one of the founding creators of Localrider Magazine from back in 2002. 15 years on, she has expanded and developed the Localrider brand to reflect the current times, including growing the website and social media platforms.

Fiona is a busy photographer and one of the favourite parts of her job is going out to meet the readers, both at shows and at their own yards. She has a good memory for horses and riders, and loves to follow their progress at competitions.

Back at HQ Fiona is involved in editing the content for both the magazine and website.

Alex Kelly
Journalist
Alex grew up on her family’s riding and performance pony stud in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Starting at grassroots level, Alex made her show ring debut aged three and has enjoyed showing in both ridden and in-hand classes and has been a regular competitor at championship shows like HOYS.

Most of all, Alex enjoys bringing on homebred young horses and ponies, to see them reach their full potential. She is also a NPS RP SHP and Connemara pony judge and a horseracing fan.

Sam Snowball
Art Editor
Sam has been Art Editor of Localrider for over eight years and has 20+ years of magazine design experience.

Sam is a cool and collected person who juggles designing the magazine (often into the early hours) with looking after her eight-year-old son and her hobby of collecting vintage and retro homewares.

Living in rural East Sussex, she’s not from an equestrian background, but has certainly learnt the subject over the years!
