Suzanne Stratford’s family moved to Broadlands in Medstead, Hampshire in 1946. In 1955 they started giving riding lessons and the Broadlands RDA Group has grown ever since. ITN newsreader Alastair Stewart OBE is an enormous supporter of British equestrianism, a sport three of his four children actively enjoy and one in which he has a number of voluntary roles, including Ambassador for British Showjumping and Patron of the Brooke. On Sunday 8th July Alastair and his wife, Sally, visited Broadlands to celebrate the first phase in the centre’s refurbishment. Fifteen-year-old Kitty Ashby took the win in the BE90 Section B at Brightling International Horse Trials riding her mare, Boleybawn Rose. Kitty attends Mayfield school where she has just completed her GCSE’s, and competes in NSEA competitions alongside BE and Pony Club. Read more
The sun shone in Fontainebleau, France, for the final day of the FEI Junior European Championships where the Racesafe Junior squad all produced clear show jumping rounds to secure Great Britain the team silver medal with Heidi Coy moving up to also take the individual silver for GB. Read more
Becky Thomson riding Bob Emmet took the win in the BE90 Section A at Brightling Park International Horse Trials on 30th June. Becky works at Zimbabwean Olympic rider, Camilla Kruger’s yard, and is grateful to Camilla for her training, as well as allowing Bob space on the lorry for occasional schooling sessions. Read more
In Section C of the Brightling Park International Horse Trials BE90 Harriet Poupart gained the win on 11-year-old Voltaires Valentino, or as he is known at home, ‘Inca’. Inca followed an interesting path to Harriet, who eventually took him on for free after his dominant character had left his previous owner unable to sell him. Read more
Ella Lucas claimed the win in Section D of the BE90 at Brightling Park International Horse Trials on Saturday 30th June, riding The Chestnut, aka Barney. Barney and Ella progressed together from novices, with Barney being Ella’s first horse, and Barney himself couldn’t jump or be ridden in an outline when Ella acquired him. Read more

The 12 month programme is made up of eight workshops and covers a range of areas including business management, business operations, media awareness, personal development and career enhancement. We are very sad to report that Jane and Jonathan Clarke’s wonderful horse, Second Supreme, collapsed and died whilst competing at the Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials. Ridden by their daughter, Chuffy (Clarke), the combination was competing in the British Horse Feeds CCI*** u25 when Second Supreme stumbled on landing towards the end of the course. The cause of death is at present unknown, but is believed to be of natural causes. Read more
